Dean Rhoades became a hairdresser at the age of 16. He spent years behind the chair, learning the craft and quickly developing a reputation as both an artist and an inventor. He traveled the world, spending a year on a sailboat in the Caribbean and another year on the road in Europe. In each port and each city, he gathered information and formed the ideas that would eventually make him one of the beauty industry’s greatest minds.

He studied with some of the skin care industry pioneers, absorbing their knowledge. After settling in Southern California, he became a formulation expert, learning the intricacies of mixing oils, extracts, and skin care necessities to create healthier, smoother skin. An incredible drive led him to open his own Beverly Hills salon. He met his wife and partner shortly thereafter.
