Q. How do I apply the Accelerated Formula Microdermabrasion Crème and how much should I use?
A. Apply crème to foam applicator and dot to clean treatment areas. Using circular movements and the resurfacing tool, work crème into skin for up to a maximum of 2 minutes on any treatment area. Before rinsing face, gently “sweep” skin with a dry towel, dusting off crème and crystals. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use daily for 5 days. Skip 5 days before beginning your personal microdermabrasion and physical rejuvenation program (2-4 times/week).

Q. How do I use the resurfacing tool to rejuvenate my skin?
A. After thoroughly cleansing the face or other areas to be treated, simply attach one of the foam applicators to the battery-powered DermaNew Resurfacing Tool. Apply crème to the applicator. Using circular movements, work crème into the skin for up to a maximum of 2 minutes on any treatment area. Before rinsing, gently “sweep” skin with a dry towel, dusting off crème and crystals. Rinse skin thoroughly with warm water. Initially, perform treatments daily for 5 days. Skip 5 days before beginning your personal microdermabrasion and physical rejuvenation program. Generally 2-4 treatments per week.

Q. When is it best to use the Round Foam Applicator? The Triangle Applicator? The Body Applicator? Is it possible to use the applicators with the resurfacing tool and the Wet/Dry handle?
A. It is absolutely possible to use all applicators with both the resurfacing tool and the Wet/Dry handle. However, because of their varying sizes and shapes, it is recommended that the small round applicator be used on the face while the large foam applicator is ideal for the body. The triangle applicator is perfect for reaching those hard-to-reach areas like the sides of the nose, and in between fingers and toes.

Q. How much pressure should be applied to my skin when performing a personal microdermabrasion treatment?
A. Light to medium pressure should be used in upward circular strokes during the treatment. If redness or irritation occurs, too much pressure is being applied. Use less pressure or switch the resurfacing tool to a lower speed. On thicker body skin, like the hips and buttocks, the pressure can be increased slightly.

Q. Is it normal to have a residue on my skin after using the DermaNew resurfacing tool?
A. The corundum crystal is left behind after the moisturizer has been worked into the skin. The corundum crystal residue can simply be “dusted off” with a dry towel, then rinse skin thoroughly with warm water. If the residue remains, you can cleanse the skin with DermaNew Purifying Cleanser, rinse with warm water, and blot dry with a towel. You can also use the DermaNew Personal Microdermabrasion System before showering so that the rapid flow of water can remove excess corundum crystal.

Q. Is it necessary to work the multi-crystal resurfacing complex into my skin with my hands after I’ve used the DermaNew resurfacing tool or Wet/Dry handle?
A. No. Because of the composition of the multi-crystal resurfacing complex, you should always use the Microdermabrasion Crème with the foam applicators. The exfoliation received from the DermaNew resurfacing tool is ample.

Q. Should a DermaNew Microdermabrasion System treatment be painful?
A. Never. When manually exfoliating the skin, a “sensation” can be felt, such as a tingling or invigorating effect; however, it should never be painful. Use less pressure or a lower speed on the DermaNew Resurfacing Tool if you experience any discomfort during use.

Q. What is the best way to clean the foam applicators and how often should I replace them?
A. After each use, rinse the foam applicators with hot water. Apply a generous amount of DermaNew Foam Applicator Cleaner, lather and gently squeeze several times. Foam Applicator Cleaner effectively kills germs while discouraging the growth of bacteria. Rinse thoroughly with hot water. Blot applicator dry with a clean towel. Allow applicators to air dry before the next use. Foam applicators will last 10 – 20 treatments with normal home use and proper care.
